David Snell Wins Marilyn Holzman Humanitarian Award

Please join us in congratulating our partner David C. Snell.  David was awarded the Marilyn Holzman Humanitarian Award at Tacoma Pierce County Bar Association’s 118th Annual Lincoln Day Banquet on February 6, 2026.

The Marilyn Holzman Award was established by the TPCBA Friend Committee in memory of Marilyn Holzman, a Bar Association member, following her untimely death. Marilyn was a strong humanitarian whose contributions greatly benefited the community.

The purpose of the Award is to honor those that provide a kindness, or service, to their fellow Bar members.

Lakewood Municipal Court Judge Tim Lewis announced the award winner at the Banquet and had this to say about Mr. Snell and the award:

“The purpose of the Marilyn Holzman Award is to recognize a member who has established a track record of kindness and service to our bar association and its members. This year’s recipient of the Marilyn Holzman Award epitomizes these virtues. In considering how best to describe this year’s recipient, I was reminded of one of our past bar association presidents, Scott Candoo. Scott was frequently referred to as “Mr. Tacoma-Pierce County Bar Association” because of the countless ways he was active in and supported our bar association over the years. Tonight’s recipient is of that same ilk. He has been a contributing member of our bar association for over 35 years, having served as bar president in 2009, on the board of trustees in 2022, 2023, returning in 2025 to present. He has served on seemingly every bar committee at some point, is a current member of the Pierce County Lawyer Magazine Committee, and a mainstay at bar events where he is welcoming to all. Please join me in recognizing this year’s recipient of the Marilyn Holzman Award: David Snell.”

Mr. Snell’s award reads:

“For devotion to the welfare of human beings striving to alleviate pain and suffering and for other philanthropic endeavors”

Congratulations to our partner, David C. Snell!
