long-time resident of the Pacific Northwest, Mr. Small is a
principal in Small, Snell, Weiss & Comfort and has been with the
firm since receiving his Juris Doctor from the University of Puget
Sound School of Law in 1992.
Since joining the firm, David has energetically represented the rights of injured workers and the disabled and has immersed himself into the ever-changing world of disability law. He has spoken to large groups of attorneys and doctors on a variety of medical/legal subjects and has served on numerous committees for legal organizations and associations, both local and statewide.
David brings a broad background of life experiences and educational pursuits to his law practice. Prior to his legal career, he was a highly regarded educator, teaching in both the United States and Canada. David received a Bachelor's degree in music and education from U.P.S. in 1977, and spent an additional two years in full-time graduate studies at the University of Washington, focusing on choral conducting, Renaissance music, and research musicology. David serves on the governing board of his church and heads up the church's Bible Quizzing youth ministry.
Mr. Small is a member of the Washington State Bar Association, the Tacoma-Pierce County Bar Association, the American Association for Justice, and the Washington State Association for Justice.
David and his wife Amy have been married for over 30 years. They and their children reside in Gig Harbor and keep themselves busy with many family activities including camping, taking music lessons of all kinds, and competing in soccer, tennis, basketball and wrestling, as well as participating in many church related activities.
